Introduction
“Is Tanzania Ready for AI?” This research is being conducted by the Africa Research Institute for AI (ARIFA), which is a not-for-profit think tank united by a shared commitment to advancing impactful research, training and advisory in the area of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.
Since its establishment, ARIFA has been at the forefront of fostering innovation, facilitating knowledge exchange, and driving evidence-based policymaking to address the dynamic challenges posed by technological advancements in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Rooted in its commitment to interdisciplinary research and collaboration, ARIFA has emerged as a pivotal force within the research and development (R&D) sector. Our organization prides itself on a diverse global network of over 100 experts working collaboratively to ensure AI’s responsible integration into various sectors of society.
Through this study, we aim to assess Tanzania’s readiness for the adoption and implementation of AI. Your insights and perspectives will contribute significantly to understanding the current state of infrastructure, skills, policy, and public awareness. The findings will help shape strategies for enhancing AI readiness in Tanzania and promoting its sustainable and ethical use to address national challenges and drive socio-economic development.
